Welcome


The Near North is a geographically large area encompassing schools and work sites in Mactier, Parry Sound, Britt, Dunchurch, Sundridge, North Bay, Mattawa and to Sturgeon Falls. Despite the size of our Board, we remain an active Bargaining Unit built on the strength of our members involvement on a District, Bargaining Unit and local level. We offer a wide range of opportunities for participation in our Federation and have boasted tremendous OSSTF leadership through the years. District 4 members have and continue to make significant contributions through membership on Provincial Committees, strong contract negotiations and unified Political Action.

  • Benefits Direct Billing Transition
    OSSTF benefits is transitioning from billing through the employer to direct billing of the plan to members. Currently, most plan members make their member contributions for OSSTF Benefits by pay roll deduction through their employer. Click the title for more information,

D4 and OSSTF has teamed up with the North Bay and District Labour Council and the Ontario Federation of Labour to host dozens of events across the province on May Day. The North Bay and District Labour Council will be hosting a rally style event Sunday, May 1.

    A Health Spending Account (HSA) is an extra benefit that provides reimbursement for qualified health care expenses that are not otherwise covered by the OSSTF Benefits plan. It is a one-time only amount of $1000.

    This is for ESSPBU members, TBU/OTBU members are not eligible.
